The Scottish Youth Parliament are asking asking young people all over Scotland to picture what they would like to change to make Scotland a better place to be. They now need YOU to check they have gotten the picture right. Take part in their survey and they'll even put you into a prize draw to Win free shoes for a year! Yes that’s right, not one but 12 free pairs of shoes! (Courtesy of www.schuh.co.uk) So then, tell politicians what YOU want so SYP can actually change the picture for people all over Scotland. Not only that, but they are working with Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People to inform their Right Blether - so your opinions have double the impact! What are you waiting for! At the recent Scottish Youth Parliament sitting in Livingston, West Lothian, elections took place for membership of the Board and Trustees. 5 places were up for grabs which were Chair; Vice Chair and Trustee (3 positions). In total, 13 people stood for election for these places. We are pleased to announce that Grant Costello (MSYP East Kilbride and East Kilbride area Chair of South Lanarkshire Youth Council) was elected as a Board Trustee. Grant will hold this position for a year and continue the work he does in ensuring the views of young people in South Lanarkshire are voiced and listened to both locally and nationally. Well done Grant! |
